• MedicationAlthough it is more desirable that medication be administered at home, the school district recognizes that some students are only able to attend school on a regular basis because of the effective use of medication in the treatment of chronic disabilities or illness.

If medication must be taken at school, the following regulations must be followed:

    1.   Medication must be brought to school in the original container and labeled as to name of pupil, name of medication, dosage to be given, and times to be given.

    2.   A parent or guardian must provide written permission for medications to be dispensed by school staff.

    3.   Medication must be kept in the office during school and dispensed according to physician's orders.

There regulations apply to prescriptions as well as "over the counter" medications, including aspirin.
