The Sault Area Public Schools' Board of Education has mandated that educational monies shall not be spent in support of a District wide meal program. We therefore must operate the Department on a "break-even" status. While we may earn a profit in some years, in others we may lose money and those losses must be repaid to the District's General Fund.
Each month the Department produces a detailed Fund Balance Report (profit and loss) statement to assist in evaluation and in planning. This helps to insure that goals are consistently met.
