The increasing use of automobiles, plus the addition of more complex systems, has provided a lucrative field for qualified technicians.
The future for qualified auto technicians is very promising. According to the Department of Labor statistics, there is a need for over 49,000 technicians nationwide. Related occupational opportunities may include: mechanical engineer, small engine mechanic, parts or sales manager, specialty technicians, auto insurance adjuster, and service advisor.
Course content is reflective of national training standards established by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
Lectures, discussions, textbook assignments, and various experiences in the lab/shop will be used to provide learning activities on the modern automobile using high tech equipment in our full service automotive shop.
Students who successfully complete the two-year Automotive Technology Program and earn a Career Center Certificate may be eligible to receive college credit from a number of post secondary institutions.
