WELCOME TO MS. MORLEY'S 4TH GRADE CLASS!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to my classroom! I am very happy to have your child as part of our learning community this year.  It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to work with them.  I am really looking forward to growing together, both academically and socially, as we explore the wonderful world 4th grade has to offer.

First, please note that I will be providing all of your child's school supplies, including paper, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, colored pencils, folders, a homework agenda and a homework folder. The one personal item your child might want to bring is their own pencil pouch or box to help keep their desk neat and tidy.

I would like to request that, if possible, each student bring in a box of tissue and a container of disinfectant wipes. I have plenty of storage room to keep these stored as we go through the year. It is very important that we work diligently, especially in today's climate, to keep our room and our belongings as clean and germ-free as possible.

My homework policy is as follows: there will be homework from Monday through Thursday. The children will be bringing home the same two items each of those 4 days; their agandas, filled out by them and signed by me, and their homework folders, one side for work that is to be completed and returned the following day and one side with graded work and other papers from school that can remain at home. Thursday's homework is usually studying for their spelling test, which takes place on Fridays.

I do not send homework home on weekends, vacations, half-days, as I believe these are times meant for family. If your child is absent, it is their responsibility to check with me upon their return to school to find out what work they missed. I will make sure this is included in their agenda and their work in their homework folder.

If you or your child have any questions for me regarding homework, or any other issue, please do not hesitate to call me. I make my cell phone available to my families for just such occasions. It is usually a quick fix, and can be handled without the drama that can sometimes occur if there are unanswered questions or confusion. I put my cell number inside of each child's agenda and homework folder. It is also on the bottom of this page. :)

We will start the year out with a quick time for a morning and an afternoon snack. Your child is welcome to bring something from home, if you wish him/her to have a snack. There are times when the school has extra snacks available. However, it is not regular and it is not something you should count on.

Again, welcome, it is going to be a great year!
