Welding Technology

  • Welding Technology is a program that is designed for the student who is interested in the manufacturing and fabricating industries. The class consists of 1 hour or 2 hour blocks that will include class work and shop work. The students will be introduced to the theories and practical experiences of welding including, but not limited to: oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, gas metal arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, plasma cutting, and other areas of manufacturing.

    This class is also a shop class that includes project work in the shop or may be required at a work site off campus. Students who successfully complete this two-year course should have entry-level skills for a career in manufacturing and may be eligible for a Career Center certificate.
