    Grading: Students in Math 6 will learn a variety of concepts including proportional relationships, geometry, and statistics. We will be following the Common Core State Standards for 6th Grade Math. In this class, we will learn math in a variety of ways. We will take notes, watch reinforcement videos, work in groups, analyze articles, write explanations, do activities, play games, complete independent practice assignments, take quizzes, take tests, and more.

    Each student’s grade will be determined by the following percentages:

    40% Tests 30% Quizzes 30% Everything Else (homework, bell ringers, activities, participation, ect.)

     

    CLASSROOM RULES 

     

    If students follow the 4Bs they will have no trouble following the classroom rules! All classroom rules can be applied to the 4Bs. However, here are a few that you should be aware of!

    When a student is tardy they will be asked to fill out a reflection sheet. This paper will have four questions that students should answer honestly. Their responses will help me support them in getting to my class on time. This allows me to handle each tardy student individually without distracting from the activity that we have already started.

    Bring all needed 

    materials to class. 

    Borrow or Do Without 

    All students are expected to bring all the needed materials to class each day. This includes their pencil, paper, planner, glasses, homework, etc. If a student forgets items that are needed they will not be allowed to go back to get them. Instead, they will need to problem-solve. They can borrow a pencil from a friend, use paper from a shoulder partner, etc. If they forget an assignment that is due it will be their responsibility to get it to me by the end of the day. Then they can make coming to class prepared a habit.

    Leave phones, wireless earbuds, gaming devices, and other electronic devices in locker.



    *This does not apply to school-issued Chromebooks. 

    Phone Jail 

    If a student brings their phone to class, it will be kept safe in the classroom phone jail (a see-through locked box). Phones will be returned to the student at the end of the school day. Repeated offenses will be communicated to parents. If you need to contact your child please contact the main office.
