I was born in Sault Ste Marie, and raised just north of Rudyard Michigan, on my family's dairy farm. Growing up I was involved in countless outdoor activities, and participated in both sports and the arts throughout school. While attending Olivet College I also ran cross country and track, it is also where I met my wife Denise. Together we love living in the UP with our two children, Eli and Emma who both attend Lincoln Elementary. Our family also runs a small business called "ByFolks" which is a small woodworking company to which was have been able to work with people and create products for people all over the nation. One of the main reasons that we started the company was for me to be able to show how Economics in the classroom can relate to real life.I believe that all students have the right to a high quality education, and can succeed in the right learning environment for them, I strive to create the ideal learning atmosphere for all students. I am excited for the opportunity to work at Sault High School; and I promise to create a well rounded curriculum that blends the usage of technology, incorporates literacy, along with a variety of other researched based methods of instruction.I find it exciting and challenging to find ways to approach the students with a variety of methods to teach the curriculum. Over the course of the past few years I have placed a great emphasis on understanding and using assessment effectively in the classroom, as well as incorporating effective literacy strategies to assist students of all ability levels at their appropriate depth of knowledge.
