Apply to Colleges
Applying to college is an exciting and important milestone in a student’s life. It marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and independence. The application process requires careful planning, from researching schools and writing essays to gathering recommendations and meeting deadlines. By staying organized and prepared, students can navigate the college application process with confidence and take the first step toward achieving their future goals.
The most popular college application platforms, by far, include the Common App and direct application through the school’s web portal. Other platforms do exist, but are not popular, especially for schools in Michigan. Choosing the right platform can save time, reduce stress, and help you stay organized throughout the college admissions process.

Colleges and universities use different types of admissions systems to organize how and when students apply. Understanding these options— early action, early decision, regular decision, and rolling admission—can help students plan their application strategy. Each type has its own deadlines, commitment levels, and advantages, so it’s important to know how they work before deciding when to apply. In general, community colleges and career training schools use rolling admissions.

Fund College
Paying for college is one of the biggest challenges many students and families face; however, options are available to make higher education affordable. Understanding these different funding opportunities helps students make smart financial decisions and focus on achieving their academic goals without unnecessary stress. With proper planning and research, funding a college education becomes a realistic and manageable goal.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form students complete to apply for financial aid from the federal government, as well as from many states and colleges. FAFSA determines your eligibility for grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and student loans based on your family’s financial information. Submitting the FAFSA is a key step in making college more affordable, and it should be completed as soon as possible after it opens each year to maximize your chances of receiving aid. To be eligible for most financial aid, a FAFSA must be submitted.
A student’s Offer of Financial Aid commonly includes a combination of sources, with some sources providing more aid than others. Private scholarships are applied for individually and are not included in the FAFSA.
