    ACCOUNTING

    “The language of business”

     

    The Accounting/Finance program introduces students to the basics of the financial world. And these basics are in EVERY business, no matter the industry! Every business needs a financial system and employees to run the system. Students learn to plan, record, analyze and interpret financial information. This information will be useful regardless of your future employment.

     

    Students will learn, practice, and demonstrate knowledge and skills in:

    ·         Career Development
    ·         Payroll Accounting
    ·         Banking
    ·         Personal Finance
    ·         QuickBooks Certification
    ·         Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certification
     

    Students in all BMMT classes are eligible to join the Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter. In this career technical student organization, students are involved in school and community activities. They also have the opportunity to compete at the Regional, State, and National levels, choosing from over 50 business related contests.

     

    **Up to 12 college credits available through articulation!

     

     

    FINANCIAL MARKETING

    Do you want to be your own boss or run your own business?

     

    Financial Marketing students delve into the finances behind the scenes in a business AND assist in operating and marketing for the school store, Varsity Blues. Students prepare for employment in retail marketing positions and gain a basic knowledge of the financial terminology and system for operating a successful business.

     

    In addition, students have the opportunity to grow and develop relationships as they learn to successfully work in groups, demonstrate their leadership, work ethic and professionalism.
