    COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    In 6th grade World Geography, students will explore a variety of tools used by geographers as they study contemporary world geography. Contemporary civics/government and economics content is integrated throughout the year along with the basics of mapping and learning the main features of the Western Hemisphere.



    REQUIRED MATERIALS:

    Students MUST bring each day:

    1. Paper 
    2. Writing utensil
    3. Textbook - will be kept in the classroom cupboard unless needed at home
    4. Planner

     

    I will provide all other materials needed for the class.

    ENTERING THE CLASSROOM: 

    1. Be on time! Use the restroom and make sure you have everything you need. 
    2. Come in quietly and use the fastest route to your seat.
    3. Fill in planner
    4. Work on “Bell work”

     

    LEAVING THE CLASSROOM:

    • I will dismiss you when your materials are put away and your area is clean. 
    • You may not leave the room without my permission.

     

    TURNING IN ASSIGNMENTS

    1. Homework will be collected at the beginning of class on the day it is due. 
    2.  If you were absent, assignments must be turned in to me.
    3. All homework is due on the due date. Lesson plans due dates are posted on the board at the front of the room. Homework is assumed to be due the following day unless otherwise notified. 
    4. Any corrected assignments or test can be turned into the “Corrected Basket” 

    CLASSWORK AND HOMEWORK POLICY

    Classwork/Homework – 50% 

    Assessments (Tests/Quizzes/Projects) – 50%

     

    MAKE-UP WORK

    1. When you are absent, it is your responsibility to get the work you missed. Daily lessons and assignments will be posted on the front board.  I am available every day before school and most lunch periods   Email me anytime with questions

     

    GRADING - I use a standard grading scale indicated in our Student Handbook.
