     Welcome to third grade!  I'd like to share some information with you about myself and my classroom.  I have been teaching for more than 30 years.  It is my passion and love.  I graduated from Central Michigan University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in reading, art, and biology.  I also received my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education.  My husband and I have four wonderful children and one adorable dog.  

 

     My classroom procedures are given to each child at the beginning of the year.  We have a standard's based reporting system in third grade.  Each child will be instructed in language arts (reading, writing, grammar, spelling), math (Everyday Math), science, and social Studies.  We use (Words Their Way) for our spelling curriculum.  Words Their Way is a program which inventories your child at their level.  Our science curriculum is Battle Creek Science, a hands on curriculum which uses scientific inquiry based learning.
