Mrs. Sirk

Hello! Welcome to Mrs. Sirk's Science class! Let me tell you a little about your teacher!

I graduated from Sault Area High School in 2015 just before attending college at Lake Superior State University in the Fall. I began with a Bachelors degree in Biology with a Pre-Medical concentration and completed that degree in 2019. I decided to continue an additional year to obtain a second Bachelors degree in Chemistry with concentrations in Biochemistry & Cannabis Chemistry, graduating in 2020. After college graduation, I moved to Ohio to work at the global headquarters of Goodyear Tire and Rubber as an analytical chemist. Although I had an amazing experience working with the company, my now husband and I decided to return home to the Sault. I married my high school sweetheart after 10 years together on July 2, 2022, and we welcomed our daughter exactly one year later, on July 2, 2023. My husband and I have two German Shepherds who are named from the phonetic alphabet -  Delta & Whiskey. This past year, I worked at Sault High as the Career & College Adviser, where I was able to get integrated into the high school culture, helping students get ready for their futures after graduation. I also currently hold a position at MyMichigan Medical Center as a Cardiology Technician, where I have held that position for a total of 4 years.

I am excited about taking my education and work experiences into the classroom to share with my students in hopes that I will be able to help each student learn in a way that best suits them. Please reach out to me at any time if you have any questions or concerns about your student! I am always happy to talk. Here's to a great year ahead!
