Mr. Carl McCready

My Name is Carl McCready and I am beginning my twenty-second year at Sault Area High School and Career Center. I graduated from Ferris State University in 2000, where I received my bachelors in education with a major in mathematics and a minor in chemistry. I received a masters degree from Central Michigan University specializing in Educational Technology and my Education Specialist from Central Michigan University in K-12 administration.

During my teaching tenure at Sault Area High School I taught several classes in mathematics including Algebra I, Algebra II and Trig/PreCalc. I was also the class advisor for the class of 2005, and currently act as the secretary of the District School Improvement Team. I was honored to be named Michigan's Assistant Principal of the Year for 2013-14.

Outside of school I enjoy hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. I have two sons, Alex who is a Junior at Michigan State and Chase who is a Junior at Sault High. My wife Mindy and I also have two daughters. Brielle is in second grade at Lincoln School and Kendall was born in February of 2020.

I look forward to working with the young men and women of Sault Ste. Marie and ask parents to not hesitate to contact me with any question they may have.
